Krups KM 4065 Coffee Maker
Buyer Beware! This 12 cup coffee maker by Krups turned in a worse performance than even a Mr. Coffee machine.
1) After a few months of use our coffee maker's wiring started smoking.
2) Then the heating element / black colored finish started wearing off in only 6 months
Sent the maker back to Krups (had to buy another maker in the meantime because it took so long) and 8 weeks later, rather than doing a repair we received a new one. Then 10 months after owning the 2nd coffee maker, the coffee temperature is luke warm and the finish on the heating element is eroding. Sound familiar?
This time Krups is hiding behind the warranty of the first coffee maker. This consumer is left with the hassle of sending the first machine machine back, buying an interim maker, and then having the replacement Krups maker go bad.
Couple this with well written reviews on Amazon - heating element goes out after a few months, the water reservoir is too small to fill without spilling all over, the pot doesn't pour well and drips coffee, yada yada yada.
Why are so many products so poorly made, apparently not well tested, or the company doesn't standing behind their products, and we're replacing them so often? Is it that much to ask to pay $125 for a coffee maker that lasts longer than 9 months and actually makes hot coffee?
