Thank you for the instructions. Not sure if this was supposed to be easier than what was current at the time or was supposed to make better coffee. Either way I'm going to give it a go and will let you know.

instructions for your p114u by: Susan Moore
I bought the P114 4 cup coffee maker at an estate sale and am selling it on ebay....the beauty of this is that I have original instructions for you to brew the coffee. here we go....
Corning ware drip coffee maker
1. Measure fresh tap water into lower bowl: cover and bring to boil over direct heat.(use 6 oz water per serving.)
2. Measure "drip grind" coffee into moistened basket. (use 2 level tablespoons or 1 coffee measure per serving.)
3. Attach basket firmly to upper bowl.
4. Place plastic control valve inside upper bowl, covering drip well.(hot water expands this valve, causing it to seal drip openings until released.)
5 Pour boiling water from lower bowl into upper bowl, and place upper bowl in position on top of lwer bowl.
6. release valve by pushing side of stem: remove valve and cover upper bowl while dripping is completed. (takes 4-6 minutes)
7 remove upper bowl when water has dripped from it. stir brew: cover: and place on low heat if necessarty to hold at serving temperature.
These are the instructions word for word. Good luck with this I'm sorta glad I'm selling mine.
